As an amateur percussionist enthusiast, I will not shy away from the fact that I do not know everything there is to know about drumming and percussion in general. I can say is that I truly believe, from experience, that one can always learn more about one’s craft or hobbies. For example, being generally a Latin percussionist, I was not very well versed in other worldly forms of percussion, and was pleasantly surprised to see a fellow drummer using a Chinese gong as an essential piece of his kit. I have learned through him that the sounds this beautiful instrument makes are both very unique and very well-liked with audiences of all types and ages.
