Fun With Wakeboarding

Everyone is having fun with wakeboarding it seems! And who could blame them? As soon as summer time hits, people have already begun shopping for their bathing suits, bought and packed their coolers and are running for the beaches in droves. Others are dusting off their boats and other neat "water toys" and heading for the nearest ocean, lake, canal or other body of water so that they can test them out. Wakeboarding is a fairly new sport. It evolved out of snowboarding, skiing and surfing. A wakeboard is used in which one person stands on it, securing their feet to the board with things called "bindings". The person is then pulled behind a boat using a long cable and travels approximately 18-20 miles per hour. The sport has really caught on in recent years, and there are many talented wakeboarders out there who can do all sorts of fun tricks and flips. Just make sure that you always wear a life jacket in case you wipe out in the middle of the water and it takes whoever is driving the boat some time to realize that they’ve lost you!
