A Credit Report Dispute isn’t always Clean Cut

The process of credit repair isn’t as easy as A B C or 1 2 3. Every person has a differen scenario, and every person has different items they can turn into a credit report dispute. While the concepts and rules are hard set for all consumers, exactly what I can dispute and you can dispute won’t be the same things. This is often why people choose to hire a professional or lawyer to handle their credit repair case on their behalf.
A few examples
On my credit report I might have a credit card that shows I have $1400 on the account, how ever there is no limit showing for the card. Meaning I am $1400 over my limit, and there by way over extended. I can dispute this information because it’s incorrect, how ever I cannot dispute the $1400 balance if it is indeed there. You aren’t allowed to just question items to have them removed if they are indeed true.
On the other hand, you could have an account showing with a balance and limit to the account. How ever it’s been paid off for almost six months now, and you’ve written to the creditor to actually close the account. The bad news is the balance and account limit still showing on your credit report is hurting your available credit, and showing you have more to pay back then you really do.
Knowing what will make a difference and what won’t will guide you in the right direction for credit repair disputes, just be sure to do your home work, and look for the subtle items that you might not notice on a first glance.
