I am having trouble deciding between all of the tribal tattoos.

August 8th, 2008 by admin

I am planning to get a tattoo. I will schedule an appointment as soon as I decide which tattoo to get. I am having trouble deciding between all of the tribal tattoos. I know I want a tribal tattoo, but I just cannot decide which one I like the best. I found several that I like, and I am trying to choose between them. I didn’t realize it would be this hard. I thought I would pick out a tattoo and have it inked on my body. I have spent months debating, and I still cannot decide on just one tattoo.

Tabla - Creating the Bayan (the Big Drum)

August 2nd, 2008 by admin

Both drum shells (of the bayan and dayan) are covered with a head (called as puri) that is constructed from a goat skin – since the cow is a sacred animal in India, cow skins are never used. As a matter of fact, goat skin is frequently used in the stead of cow skin in most of the ethnic percussion instruments originating in Asia. The goat skin is then overlaid by an outer ring of skin (called the keenar) to serve as suppressor of the natural overtones the tabla creates. The two skins are stitched together by a complex woven braid that gives the entire assembly the strength to be tensioned onto the shell. The completed head construction is then affixed to the drum shell with a continuous piece of goat or camel hide strap that is laced in between the braid of the head assembly and another ring that is placed on the bottom of the drum.

I love Indiana Jones

July 28th, 2008 by admin

I went to the movies today to watch one of my heroes, I saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and I think it was an absolutely fantastic film. I have watched all of the Indiana Jones movies now and I think that this one was by far the best. I love the way that the subject matter is dealing with the mind and how this is deemed to be the next frontier for man to master. Harrison Ford is great in the movie and it was also really good to see one of the previous stars back in the movie. If you have not seen Indiana Jones and the Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull yet, go see it now.

My daughter, the model

July 27th, 2008 by admin

I’m such a proud momma. My little girl has made it big into the fashion industry. She has always been in fashion shows as a child and enjoyed being in pageants. I never forced anything upon her. She just wanted to do it, and had a true liking for it. She is now one of the top fashion show models in the world. She works for some of the best designers and gets to travel all over the world doing what she loves. I’m truly proud of her and how she has made her dreams come true. I always knew she would make it big.

Picking a Cross Tattoo Design

July 25th, 2008 by admin

There are many different types of tattoos that you can choice from. One of the more popular being crosses. When you pick a cross tattoo design, you can choose from a number of different types. When getting some type of religious tattoo, a basic cross will work just fine. If you’re getting a tattoo with irish or celtic designs such as celtic knot work, the best thing to get is a celtic cross. Usually people will get tribal designs as a half sleeve or around an area like an “armband” or bracelet, you can have a tribal cross design incorporated with this kind of work. Just remember, a rosary is not going to look good with a bunch of tribal designs around it, make sure you get the right type of cross tattoo to go with the rest of the tattoo you’re getting.

Can I get a degree online?

July 24th, 2008 by admin

I love to cook, and I really like to make my kitchen nice to work in as well as convenient to work in, so I thought that maybe I should try to start a career in kitchen interior design. Can I get a degree online to help me learn the necessary skills to do this? And is there a high enough demand for this type of professional? I really would prefer to just work with kitchens rather than whole houses if I could find enough work doing just that. Kitchens combine my love for both design and cooking, so they are ideal for me.

Top Tip: Learn Ballroom Dancing

July 19th, 2008 by admin

The Factory Gym in Holloway, London, has just initiated its dance classes, and I went around last week looking to learn ballroom dancing, and what a nice welcome I got! I was really nervous about going on my own, but the teacher and her pupils made me feel so welcome, and we even shared a vinyard of wine afterwards.I’ll be going next week, and every week for as long as I can, as its really made me look forward to Mondays. A excellent night out, with some new and exciting people. What more could I want? Oh yes, and a nice jug of wine afterwards would be wicked.

Gong Types

July 18th, 2008 by admin

The Chau gong (also called the bullseye gong) by far, is the most recognizable to Westerners. Large chau gongs that are called tam-tams have even become part of the symphony orchestra. Though the chau gong is often referred as a Chinese gong, the truth is that it’s only one of the many types of suspended gongs that are associated with China. A tiger gong is a slightly descending or ascending gong, larger than an opera gong with a less pronounced pitch shift. Wind gongs are flat bronze discs, with little fundamental pitch, heavy tuned overtones, and long sustained sound. Traditionally, a wind gong is played with a large soft mallet, which gives them a roaring crash. They are commonly used by drum kit drummers in rock music. Nipple gongs have a raised boss or nipple in the center and they have a clear resonant tone with less shimmer than other gongs.

A great camping experience with fleece blanket

June 30th, 2008 by admin

Every year my family and I take a camping trip up in the mountains. This year was a very special year. We decided to all bring up a special gift for our grandfather. He has been leading the trip for the past 20 years, but is now on his last trip. His arthritis is getting so bad that it’s getting very difficult for him to make the journey. I decided to get him a personalized fleece blanket with his favorite scripture on it. This is special to me because he always was the one who brought more than enough blankets to keep everyone warm on the trip.

June 23rd, 2008 by admin

Today I am going to tell you a thing or two about celtic tattoos and no matter how ignorant you are about tattoo designs , you will surely be knowing a lot more about celtic tattoos after you read this article.

So,what actually is meant by Celtic? It is anything that has its origin in celtic speaking lands such as Ireland, Scotland, etc. The celtic languages are Irish, Scots, Welsh, Breton,Cornish and Manx.  In short you could say that celtic is all about the culture of the celtic lands mentioned above. The music, the dance and the languages of the celtic lands.

So, most of the times, people with celtic tattoos are those who originate from the celtic lands and these tattoos are a means of bringing back their memories of their motherland.

I am done now and I am sure you learnt a lot about the origin of celtic tattoos and the culture of the celtic lands.

June 20th, 2008 by admin

I was riding my bike the other day when i met this girl. I didn’t know it at first, but later learned that she was a model. She had been all over the world and made a nice living in that profession. We began to talk about our families and how we always wanted to travel, and both found ourself in a profession that allowed that dream to come true. She then asked me if i knew a good liverpool photographer. I immediately thought of my friends who just opened up a studio there. She was very grateful for my advice and went on her way.

Wedding dancing lessons for the entire family

June 19th, 2008 by admin

Ok, here we go another family event that we can all get ready for together. My parents have decided to renew their vows and this time my sisters and I are in the wedding. Mom wants us all to take wedding dancing lessons together as a bonding experience. What will be next? Do we all have to live together again! Ugh! Anyway, the dance lessons sound like a lot of fun and I am looking forward to trying something new. Dancing is a wonderful form of expression and when done well… I might be spotted by some cute guys at this wedding!

Recital

June 7th, 2008 by admin

A few months ago, my neice had a play at her school and I was fortunate enough to attend. The play was based off of the Broadway show "Guys and Dolls." My neice played the main church goer if you will and she was hilarious. She also has the voice of an angel. Now I don’t know if you’ve ever seen this show before, but there is an immense amount of dancing within it. I couldn’t believe how accurate this middle school adaptation was. What truly impressed me was the dancewear worn by the actors. Although it was very reminiscent of regular everyday clothing, the fitting gave way for a lot of movement, which allowed the actors to really put their heart and souls into the dance moves. I was watching an interview about a current broadway show and it talked about how much work the wardrobe people have to endure every single day. Although the same outfits are used for the dance routines, everyday there is a rip, or a tear, that needs to be repaired. For example, one of the peformers who was new to the production constantly kept ripping a certain area of his wardrobe because of a particular dance move that needed to be done. Eventually the actor figured out how to stop this from happening, but until that point the wardrobe people had to fix the problem every single night. So it’s clear to see that if you are performing in a middle school production or a professional broadway play, the proper material and fitting of dancewear is crucial to the success of a production.

Scrapbooking As An Inexpensive Hobby

June 6th, 2008 by admin

With today’s economic crisis, and gas prices where they are, I’ve been looking for something fun to do that is easy on the pocketbook. I have had friends who were in to scrapbooking, but I never really gave it a look.

Recently, I decided to try it out, and with the encouragement and help from my friends, I was able to create my first scrapbook! I thought it would be boring, but finding photos and crafts and other elements that relate to my personality was actually quite fun.

I’ve never been that crafty myself, but this experiment turned out great. I gave my sister a scrapbook for her birthday covering the last 10 years or so of our lives. She really seemed to like it. I think I may have found my new hobby.

About tattoo care

June 3rd, 2008 by admin

A lot of tattoo artists report that when musicians, especially hip hop artists, get tattoos, there is usually an influx of clients wanting that particular tattoo. Of course most women want to go with a feminine design that will add a beautiful touch to their body. One thing you might want to know about the generic websites is that a lot of the artwork there is not actually drawn to be implemented as tattoos. Finding a tattoo for women gets even more complicated because of this. Tattoo care is also important right after you get a new one to make sure it heals properly.

Shark Boy and Lava Girl

April 21st, 2008 by admin

The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl takes viewers on a wild ride in the grand tradition of fantastical films such as Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, which is set in a bizarre world, and films such as The Never-ending Story, in which mistreatment by bullies sends the victim into a dream world where he can be a hero. The merger of fantasy and reality in the film is intriguing.

The action centers around ten year old Max. A dreamer who is often picked on at school, he creates his own friends from his infinite imagination. Shark Boy and Lava Girl are super heroes from Planet Drool who come exploding into Max’s school room one day in search of his help in saving their planet from increasing darkness. As their world was born in Max’s active imagination, the super heroes inform him that he is the only one who can save it.

While the film may not have as much appeal for grown-ups as it does for children, it is still an interesting story. The story of a victim winning over a bully is always a favorite plot with youngsters.
