Me and my family decided to do an ancestry search and we wanted to see where our family roots began as far back as our arrival into the United States from the old country. We had no idea how to even get started but found some websites that made it easier for us. One thing we ran into that stopped us cold was we didn’t realize that if someone changed their name this would not generally be linked together online. We found a marriage records database site however that gave us the ability to search the public records for the marriage certificates and we were able to search by their maiden name. This was a great deal of help to us!
