My friend just recently got a degree in web design. He didn’t realize how many web designers there were when he started looking for a job. It was extremely hard to compete for a position in a well-known company because there are more qualified candidates. My friend needed more experience. Well, how do you get more experience when you can’t get a job? He ended up taking a job at a smaller company but volunteering for non-profit organizations. Charities often need help with existing sites or setting up a new site. They have limited budgets and can’t afford help from a non-profit web design company. By volunteering my friend gained his experience and also helped a god cause.
