There is a lot to be said for picking a Christchurch wedding venue that is gracious and low cost. And here in the Garden City I know just the place to do it. My daughter had her afternoon tea there, and if she and her husband had been willing to make that the reception it would have gone off just as well. There is a lovely old two storied white wooden home at the front, and to the side, enclosed by a wall and trees, is a small grassed square lawn. Perfect! The afternoon we made it the venue for the wedding afternoon tea (for guests who could not come to the evening reception in a local hotel ballroom) was sunny and warm. So guests drank tea and talked under the shade of a huge tree. Low cost and a great venue. I’d recommend it any time.
