Creative Ideas 101

July 31st, 2009 by admin

The following is a quick lesson on how to have creative ideas. To begin with, you have to be willing to have silly thoughts to get really creative. Turn things upside down and play with concepts. For example, when you think of climbing a tree, you might think to yourself, “What if the tree climbed something?” That seems perfectly ridiculous, which is okay. It brings us to another element of having creative ideas, which is the habitual assumption that you can make sense of something that starts out silly. In this case, you might think of a tall building with openings up the side from which fruit trees grow, a kind of vertical farming that takes less space. That idea could actually have some real application.
