Grooming and puppy potty training tips

How often you should brush and comb your puppy depends on the structure and length of its coat. Dogs with a coat needing a lot of care, such as the Bobtail and Afghan Hound, need more attention than short-haired breeds. If you have a dog with a long coat, grooming will form an essential part of its daily care. It is of the greatest importance for these breeds that you get your puppy used to this as soon as possible, because neglect of the coat can lead to skin irritations, abscesses, and worse. Once your pup is used to the grooming it could even see it as a treat if it really starts to like it - at this stage you could even use it as encouragement in your puppy potty training routines.
