Computer Advice To My Friend

February 29th, 2008 by admin

I was having lunch with Stephen the other day and we got to talking about computers.  He likes to talk to me about his PC problems because I am a networking consultant.  He’ll ask me all sorts of questions, and sometimes I have the answers, sometimes I don’t.

When he asked me, "why is my computer so slow?" I really didn’t know where to start.  So the first thing I suggested that he do is run a registry cleaner to rule out that cause.  I told him that the registry is notorious for getting clogged with useless entries that slow down the whole system.

I also told him that if he can afford it he should think about getting some more RAM.  It’s so cheap and has a huge impact on the speed of your computer and how well you can multitask.
