How To Backup The Windows Registry

December 31st, 2007 by admin

It is a good idea in any circumstance to backup the Windows registry on a regular basis.  Although any mention of the Windows registry causes fear and confusion in many computer users, it is incredibly easy to make a manual backup copy of the registry. All you need to do is go to Start / Run , and then type in REGEDIT and press enter.  This will open the Windows registry editor.  Don’t change any files.  Simply go to File / Export, and then choose a name and safe location for your file.  This is the manual backup of the registry that you can revert back to at any time.
