When we were planning our visit to Paris we found that you can find  Paris long term apartment rentals with a good property management service. Then you can put the apartment on a short stay list for visitors to the city that only plan to stay a week or two. You can make a small profit re-renting the apartment and that will cover your use of it when you are visiting there. I have to admit this was a whole new concept for me and when it was suggested I was very skeptical. I did do it more as an experiment and it actually worked out great.
